OnePlus 13 Series to Feature Magnetic Cases and Charging: Inspired by Apple MagSafe?

The highly awaited OnePlus 13 series is scheduled to debut in India on January 7, 2025. Reports from 91Mobiles suggest that the series will feature magnetic capabilities akin to Apple’s MagSafe, as indicated by the leaked specifications of the official cases.
The OnePlus 13 and 13R are rumored to come with a “Sandstone Magnetic Case.” At the same time, the OnePlus 13 will also feature additional options like the “Wood Grain Magnetic Half-pack Case” and the “Aramid Fiber Magnetic Case.” The “magnetic” designation suggests support for magnetic accessories, potentially paving the way for innovative charging solutions from OnePlus.

In its home market, the company has already unveiled a 5,000mAh magnetic power bank and a 50W AIRVOOC magnetic wireless charger, which are expected to roll out in other regions, including India. Additionally, the new magnetic cases may integrate with the Qi2 wireless charging standard, offering compatibility with a variety of third-party chargers and power banks.
According to multiple reports and leaks, the OnePlus 13 is poised to deliver premium features, including a 6.82-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with a stunning 3168×1440 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 4500 nits. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it is expected to offer up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Other highlights include a 50MP triple-camera setup, a massive 6000mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, and IP68/IP69 certification for enhanced durability.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 13R is anticipated to come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and a 50MP triple-camera system. Both models will run on OxygenOS 15, based on Android 15, providing a seamless and cutting-edge user experience.
